I believe all children are fearfully and wonderfully made, sprinkled with gifts, talents and an adventuresome wonderment that lies in wait for those whom are given brief moments of time to touch and awaken those hidden treasures within each child. Parents, family and teachers have a small season in time to imprint each child's mind, heart and body. Each moment should be a memory made that is an authentic keepsake worth revisiting often. |

Thought provoking experiences |

Often, opportunities will be experienced that bring out opinions, thoughts, ideas and creative suggestions that each child possesses. This happens as a risk free environment encourages children to share through debates, small and large group interaction, shared oneness, and an environment where each child is valued for their creative original ideas. The role of teacher moves into facilitator with gentle guidance and a foundation forms in such a way that each child is enriched within themselves and grows in their own right to be an individual citizen. |

Accelerated Reading |

AR reading is embraced and celebrated in my classroom. It holds great value for many reasons. First, the reader has the choice of freedom to chose a reading selection of their interest level. Second, when the reader is ready he/she tests with results given immediately. This allows the reader, parent and teacher a feedback that directs an understanding of their comprehension of text and can drive direction for needs and areas of concern. Children have opportunities to test both at school and home.
