The Power of One
Welcome!
I am very excited to start another wonderful school year at A.C. Williams this year and eager to see what each student will bring to the classroom. It is my fourth year teaching in Commerce. I love reading and think it is important in everything we do. This is why AR is big in my classroom. I love to see the students reading in their spare time and testing when available. Some great math foucses would be vocabulary and real world connections. It is highly important for your child to understand how we use math in our every day lives. Understanding what the words are and what they mean is half the battle. I have high expectations of all my students. They will reach and surpass these expectaions by giving his/her individual best. That is all I ask of every child.

Your child will be bringing home an agenda and homework folder every night.
Please look over their agenda and homework with them every night. There is a place for you to sign/initial it. They will bring this back and the folder each day.

Thank you for all your support and help. The parent plays a very important role in a child's education and wouldn't be where we are today with out you.

If you have any questions feel free to contact me.

AR Goals each week
These are the percentages that each student should have at the end of each week to reach their AR goal.

1st week: 17%
2nd week: 33%
3rd week: 50%
4th week: 67%
5th week: 83%
6th week: 100%

Their comprehension percentage should be 85% or higher for the level books they are reading. This is checking to see how well they are understanding what they read.
