Prior to beginning school, you have worked hard to teach your child the concept of respcet, responsibility, trustworthiness, fairness and caring. Once in school, children realize that are so many more people to interact with everyday. For some this is easier than others. As children progress, teachers consistently offer opportunities for cooperation among classmates which advances character development even more. As we continue to stress good character traits in our school, please be aware that the first six weeks we will be working on the trait of RESPECT.
During guidance, we learn to RESPECT self, others and things. Disprespect is reflected in 'put downs'. Students are taught to avoid 'put downs' in their conservations and actions.
Please talk with your child about our lessons and class discussions. Thank you for your reinforcement of our Character Education lessons! You are helping your child for a lifetime! Sincerely,
Belinda Miller Counselor
